Ray Lynam

Moate, Westmeath - Ireland

PERFORMER

Ray Lynam played saxophone with a local group while still at school, so greatly influenced by recordings of George Jones and Buck Owens that he carefully reproduced their vocal styles in his own singing. In 1969, he became the front man for the Hillbillies. He eventually started pursuing a solo career and collaborating with Philomena Begley on several albums with chart hits.
