Norton Priory Museum & Gardens, situated on the edge of Runcorn, is one of Cheshire's hidden gems. The original medieval church was founded in 1134, achieving mitred abbey status in 1391 and is one of the most excavated monastic sites in Europe. The museum is surrounded by woodland walks and is host to many events including weddings, theatre productions and concerts.
