Foster the People is an American indie pop band formed in 2009, known for making atmospheric, psychedelic, dance-oriented pop music. Their single 'Pumped Up Kicks' first received significant airplay in 2010. Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Mark Foster originally started it as a solo project, but quickly added friends to complete the lineup.
